University Band

The University Band concentrates on extensive study and performance of a wide range of wind ensemble literature. The Band offers two on-campus concerts during the academic year, with students often afforded the experience of performing solo. A Pep Band of selected players is also available, enjoyed by all at home football and basketball games.

In fall 2009, our Band students were fortunate to have the opportunity to work under the direction of Dr. Gordon Ring and perform alongside members of the renown Longwood Wind Symphony. Members of Grammy-winning eighth blackbird, Richmond's ensemble-in-residence, also offer our music students both individual coachings and ensemble sectionals.
