Adjunct faculty at the University of Richmond since 2001, Charlie Moeser studied flamenco and classical guitar with Andy Merrill and flamenco guitar with Fernando Martin, Carlos Ramos and Fernando Sirvent. He has spent considerable time in Spain studying the guitar and absorbing Spanish culture. His research into the guitar and guitar making, friendships with several guitar makers and experience repairing and adjusting guitars have led to expertise regarding the instruments themselves.
Along with playing at festivals, colleges, restaurants and clubs, Moeser has performed at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art, as well as for various international agencies, cultural groups, ambassadors and other dignitaries. Overseas appearances have included Canal Zone television and the Eighth Festival de Guitarra in Lima, Peru. He has been guitarist to several Washington, D.C.-area Spanish dance troupes.
