Music Technology Lab

The Music Department has music technology resources available to support the academic and creative activities of students and faculty.

The Music Technology Lab has 15 student music workstations. Each station includes the following:

  • Apple iMac (Retina display 3.6GHz Intel Core i9 processor with 16Gb of RAM)
  • Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface
  • Ableton Push MIDI controller
  • Nektar Impact GX49 MIDI keyboard
  • Nektar Sustain Pedal
  • Shure SM58 or SM57 microphone
  • Audio-Technica ATH-M20x headphones

The Music Technology Lab computers have a variety of software installed on them, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, OcenAudio, EastWest Gold sample library, and Finale.

Recording Facilities

The recording studio consists of three different rooms; a control room, a live room, and an isolation room. Audio and video connections join the three rooms to each other and additional audio and video lines connect to our concert hall. The studio also supports Dante audio networking in Booker Hall of music and other venues and live streaming of department events.
