Juries

All students enrolled in for-credit private music lessons (MSAP courses) – Music majors and minors, as well as non-majors – are required to perform a Jury at the end of each semester of study. (Exception: Students are excused from Jurying at the end of a semester in which they performed a recital.) Music majors are generally expected to perform a 10-minute Jury; Music minors and non-majors, five minutes. Each adjudicating student is required to complete a Student Repertoire Record form to bring to their performance.

Juries are usually held each semester on the day after the last Friday of classes (i.e., on Saturday). That same week, the Jury Schedule is posted on the Music Department bulletin board near Booker Hall 117. Students check that schedule to obtain their assigned performance time and location.
